You may remember British trio, Until The Ribbon Breaks (UTRB) from earlier this Fall when I deservedly named them ‘Ones To Watch.’ While their debut album, A Lesson Unlearnt was pushed back from November to January 20th (Kobalt Music Group), they’re releasing plenty of TUNES to keep us happy. The latest single, “Revolution Indifference” features American hip-hop duo Run The Jewels (AKA El-P and Killer Mike). The video for the single, which premiered on Pitchfork.com, was co-directed by UTRB‘s frontman/producer/chief-lyricist Pete Lawrie-Winfield alongside director Storme Whitby-Grubb (a lot of hyphenates behind one video) and shot in Los Angeles. Watch the video for “Revolution Indifference” BELOW and download it on iTunes (U.S. only). The tune will be released in the UK on February 2nd.
Pete recently talked to Pitchfork.com about the song:
“Revolution Indifference is about all of us hurtling towards complete apathy, and eventual total collapse, generic smartphone in tow. We are a strange breed sometimes. Pocket sized personal computers permanently stuck to our thumbs. We swipe left, right, eyes down, seemingly entirely indifferent to the world outside our own social networks.”
In addition to prepping for the release of their debut album, A Lesson Unlearnt, UTRB is also getting ready to join soaring British synthpop trio, London Grammar on their next U.S. tour, which was originally set to kick off in November before being postponed until January. Check out a full list of tour dates BELOW, including a couple of headlining dates in New York City and Chicago.
