Having already been showcased as an “Artist to Watch in 2012” by both Esquire Magazine and Refinery 29, Elle King takes another step towards the mainstream with the exciting announcement that “Playing For Keeps” has been selected as the official theme song for Mob Wives Chicago, the Mob Wives spin off premiering on VH1 June 10th. With the promo spots featuring King’s stunning new song already in full rotation, it’s only a matter of time before this girl gets her spotlight.
In addition to “Playing For Keeps,” King’s debut EP also features lead single “Good To Be A Man,” and “No One Can Save You.” “Good To Be A Man” is enjoying airplay on radio stations all over the country, including KCRW Santa Monica, XPN Philly and RIF Detroit, and may be purchased either online (iTunes US) or on 7″ vinyl.
Elle King is currently wrapping up an opening stint for critically acclaimed Of Monsters and Men as well as several international dates for Train. Born in Ohio and raised in Brooklyn, Elle is a talented singer/songwriter and accomplished musician, readily able to showcase her mean banjo and guitar skills. While her style of music is a fine blend of old soul, blues and rock’n’roll, Elle’s personal style is “Bushwick” – Brooklyn meets mid-Western charm.
