Back in July, our friends over at Idolator premiered the debut single from a promising new UK-based dance music duo called Level 3. Offering up a perfect mix of both classic and modern house vibes, “Feeling Your Love (Laa Dee Daa)” has all the makings of an end-of-summer chart SMASHER. Ahead of the single’s September 18th release (via RCA Records), we’re premiering a brand new remix by late 90s/2000s reFIX legends, K-Klass. Check it out exclusively below:
You might remember K-Klass from their INSANE late 90s/2000s remixography, which included floor-filling club makeovers of songs by Atomic Kitten, Cher, Geri Halliwell, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Holly Valance, S Club 7, Lisa Stansfield and Samantha Mumba‘s “Baby Come On Over,” which earned them a Grammy-nomination for ‘Best Remix.’
Crazy how a few years ago, house music was all but M-I-A in mainstream pop circles, but now, thanks in part to successful electronic groups like Gorgon City and Clean Bandit, and solo acts like Kiesza and Jess Glynne—it’s BACK and bigger than ever. With “Feeling Your Love,” Level 3 forges its own path through this exciting, nostalgia-soaked dance music sub-genre, with big-voiced singer/songwriter Martika LA (formerly of Brit girl group, RD) bringin’ the Crystal Waters/Gabrielle vibes.
Level 3 are Sean Mac, a young London-based singer/songwriter and Lisa Greene, a producer/songwriter with a list of credits a mile long, including ICONIC should-have-been-official-singles from Kylie Minogue (“Secret (Take You Home)“) and Britney Spears (“Breathe On Me“) and actual singles from Kate Ryan (“Je T’Adore“) and a song with one of my personal favorite remix packages of the late 2000s, “Number One In Heaven” by Nemesis Rising. Level 3 are currently hard at work, cranking out BANGERS like “Feeling Your Love” over at Metrophonic in London, so HOPEFULLY we’ll hear another tune or two before the end of year. In the meantime, they have jointly been writing songs with Karen Harding, The Vamps and my personal FAV ginger siren, Nicola Roberts.
Out September 18th, “Feeling Your Love (Laa Dee Daa)” features remixes from Metro, K-Klass, Spin City and Matt Jam Lamont. Check out the song’s trippy visual, directed by Sophia Ray (Lily Allen, Charli XCX) below.
