According to their Twitter bio, West London trio the Lonsdale Boys Club are the “original disco swagger cats.” Not sure quite what that means, but after listening to their debut single, it’s evident that these guys have swagger for days. Lonsdale Boys Club (AKA Charlie, Topher and Loz) are set to release their first spunky-fresh single, “Light Me Up” on May 22nd via (X-Factor judge & Take That member) Gary Barlow‘s Future Records/Island Records. The single serves as the first taste from the boys’ upcoming self-titled debut album, due later this summer.
“Light Me Up” is the perfect lead single for this up and coming trio. Filled with infinite amounts of punktafied attitude and retro rock-soul sensibilities, it’s a modern day rock anthem in the making! The boys, who just wrapped up their first headline tour in the UK, have already attracted the attention of an elite crew of DJs and remixers, looking to take the boys’ gritty pop/punk disco tunes into a completely different direction. Check out two hot remixes from DEMS and Grum BELOW.
After building their very own recording studio, the busy and extremely self-motivated Lonsdale Boys Club wrote their new album, joining forces with producers S*A*M and Sluggo, the American tour-de-force team behind hits by Cobra Starship (“Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)“), Metro Station (“Shake It“), Gym Class Heroes, Katy Perry, Chiddy Bang and more. With their sound described as a “fusion of disco funk, rock, soul and a little bit of 90’s Brit Pop,” the Lonsdale Boys Club are something fresh, different and definitely worth a listen.
