Just because I’ve been sitting on this, now OLD news, doesn’t make it any less exciting. Olly Murs, the handsome and talented UK singer/songwriter who just finished up a successful opening slot on the One Direction U.S. tour is prepping for the release of his debut album here in America! FINALLY! Olly’s album, In Case You Didn’t Know, featuring lead single “Heart Skips A Beat,” assisted by Chiddy Bang will drop September 25th on Columbia Records. Pre-order it on iTunes or Amazon.
I’ve been raving about and lusting after Olly Murs since his appearance on the British version of The X-Factor back in 2009 when he delivered a practically flawless performance of Stevie Wonder‘s classic hit “Superstition.” Since then 28 year old Murs has been riding the waves of success in his native UK, releasing two double platinum albums and three #1 singles with over 4 million records sold internationally. Pretty impressive!
While Murs’ debut U.S. album In Case You Didn’t Know borrows it’s title from his successful sophomore UK release, the new record is actually a hybrid of Olly’s first two albums. Favorite tracks include Olly’s first UK #1 “Please Don’t Let Me Go,” “Thinking Of Me,” and of course his next two #1’s, “Heart Skips A Beat” (featuring Chiddy Bang) and his latest hit single “Dance With Me Tonight.” Check out the complete tracklisting BELOW.
In addition to touring with One Direction, Murs also spent time this past summer in the States promoting his album. Olly made his U.S. television debut with a performance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Here’s hoping he comes back to do his solo thing closer to the album’s release. In the meantime, feast your eyes on Olly’s “Dance With Me Tonight” video BELOW.
