Cardiff-based synthpop outfit XY&O (EX-WHY-AND-OH) keep the momentum going, dropping another refreshingly fizzy summer treat down our thirsty music-loving gullets. New single, “Lights On” hits us only a couple months after the trio debuted “Low Tide,” thus igniting a blaze of internet buzz. Listen to “Lights On” below.

Definitely in the same shimmery synthpop vein as their debut, “Lights On” leaves me wanting for nothing, except maybe an album’s worth of music! Sounding a bit like a more chilled out Chromeo, “Lights On” glides along effortlessly, thanks to slick production (Tudor Davies – programming & keys), funky instrumentation (Nick Kelly – guitar) and smooth vocals (Skip Curtis). The inspiration for the tune—”Get Lucky,” of course—Daft Punk‘s hit single from 2013.
YES boys YES! Keep these summery vibes coming. Look out for XY&O‘s debut EP, out soon, but in the meantime, you can download (iTunes) and stream (Spotify) their first single, “Low Tide” right now. So get on that.
