Brooklyn-based MOTHXR has been on my radar since I included the four-piece band in a larger-than-average #PromisingPop feature I did back at the beginning of last month. It was their sultry 80s-inspired single “Stranger” that first captured my attention, but now with the release of a new buzz-track called “She Can’t Tell” I am 100% ALL in. Listen to MOTHXR‘s hazy, haunted synth-riddled scorcher up at the top.

Produced by the bands’ own Jimmy Giannopoulos, “She Can’t Tell” is the latest track taken from MOTHXR‘s upcoming debut album, Centerfold, due February 26th via Washington Square Records/Kitsune. The band consists of lead singer (and actor) Penn Badgley, bassist/producer Giannopoulos (LOLAWOLF, Reptant), guitarist Simon Oscroft and keyboardist Darren Will.
