Seeing that it’s Father’s Day today, I’m feeling sort of reflective and a bit emotional. No better time than now to share with ya’ll Robin Thicke‘s heart-stirring cover of Whitney Houston‘s 1995 #1 single, “Exhale (Shoop Shoop),” taken from the Waiting To Exhale soundtrack. While the song doesn’t appear on Thicke’s latest album, Love After War, he released it as a promotional single back in April as a tribute to the late, great Ms. Whitney Houston.
Thicke also shot an simple, but lovely black and white video to go along with the song. The video shows a pensive Robin Thicke walking around Los Angeles, staring longingly into the camera, even performing for fans on the street while they take pictures and videos of the sexy R&B crooner. The video closes with Thicke walking away from a theater marquee that reads “Goodbye Whitney Houston – We Miss You.” Indeed we do. Download his cover of “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” and prepare to weep (iTunes US).
In addition to “Exhale,” Robin just released the scorchingly hot video for his latest Love After War single, “All Tied Up.” He can also be seen every week on the new ABC music reality competition show, Duets, as one of four judge/mentors, sitting alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Jennifer Nettles.
