Barbadian super diva Rihanna premiered the video for her latest single, “S&M” last night at midnight and, as expected, it’s a rip-roarin’ raunchy delight. Gags, whips, lots of leather and Perez Hilton on a leash…what more could you ask for in a video for a song called “S&M?” The video was directed by Melina Matsoukas who’s done videos for past Rihanna singles including “Hard“, “Rude Boy” and “Rockstar 101.” Bright colors, fierce wigs and sexy costumes – the video is a visual stimulant – pure & simple.
“S&M” is the fourth single taken from Rihanna‘s fifth album, the Platinum-selling Loud. The song was produced by Stargate and Sandy Vee and written by Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Sandy Wilhelm and Ester Dean. Sent to mainstream and rhythmic radio on January 24th, a special remix package was digitally delivered on January 21st featuring hot mixes from Dave Audé, Joe Bermudez, and Sidney Samson. So far the single has been doing ALRIGHT on the charts, currently sitting at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100, #46 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart and #42 on the official UK Singles chart. The song has done very well in Australia, where it climbed to #3 on the ARIA Singles chart after it’s release on January 17th. The remixes are available now on Masterbeat and Loud is in stores now.
