Check out unsigned electro-pop artist Kyle Brylin. This 21 year old singer/songwriter hails from Wisconsin (YAY – a fellow Midwesterner) and claims to do 95% of his own work. I’m not 100% sure if he’s talking production, songwriting, or what but kudos to him! While his material doesn’t sound completely polished, there’s definitely a lot of potential here. His latest single, “Committed” was released in January on Ninthwave Records (home to Music Is My King Size Bed favorite Van Go Lion), followed by a remix EP in March. Check out the music video for “Committed” below and see if you like what Brylin has to offer. Definitely give him a chance. I think with the right producers, songwriters and some good promotion, he could go far. Brylin is open to constructive criticism so feel free to reach out to him via his MySpace. Here’s a little blurb he wrote on his profile page:
Remember those kids who knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grew up? I was one of those. I said I wanted to be a singer when I was like, 5 and I haven’t changed my mind yet. Now, I’m a 21 year old artist from Wisconsin. Want to know my biggest secrets? Listen to my music. It’s the only place I pour my heart out. I have quite the sense of humor (I do say so myself), so try not to take me too seriously. I thrive on constructive criticism. Since I do 95% of my work, I would love to get a message/ comment from you if you have any advice for me (Yes, it’s really me responding). Also, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m really easy to talk to and am always ready to meet new people. Thanks for visiting, reading, and listening. -Kyle
There’s just something so sweet and genuine about this guy. I admire an artist who realizes that their product isn’t perfect and who welcomes constructive feedback. There’s too much ego in the biz as it is so this sort of attitude is genuinely refreshing. I look forward to hearing more from Kyle Brylin in the future.
