25 y/o British Electro-Pop Singer/Songwriter Florrie unveiled the video for her new single, the STUNNING “Little White Lies,” taken from her new Sirens EP (out now), her first EP with Sony Music, following a string of independent releases. Check out the Zaiba Jabbar-directed clip BELOW the cut.
Released April 27th (Xenomania/Sony) Sirens featured 5 tracks, all produced by Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Amelia Lily) including the Shadow Child remix of this little gem of a song, “Little White Lies.” Florrie has been working with Xenomania since the beginning when she released her first EP, Introduction back in 2010. My Florrie fandom really started with the release of “I Took A Little Something” off her second indie EP, Experiments, which was co-written with Fred Falke (This EP also featured winners like “Begging Me” and “Experimenting With Rugs“). Another indie EP, “Late” followed in 2012 featuring “Shot You Down.” With Sirens out now, I’m ready for Florrie‘s next release to be an actual ALBUM. Fingers crossed!

In addition to being a singer and a songwriter, the multi-talented Florrie is also a drummer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. This would explain why she has a drum set in the middle of a field in the new video. According to the press release, Florrie discovered the drums at the age of 7 while on holiday with her parents. Joining forces with a number of bands, Florrie eventually made her way over to UK production/hit-making company Xenomania. Starting out as the “in-house drummer” (playing with the likes of Girls Aloud, Kylie Minogue and the Pet Shop Boys) Florrie worked her way up, developing her own skills as a songwriter (writing for Music Is My King Size Bed favorite, Mini Viva) and vocalist as she went. Releasing “Call 911” in 2010 via Kitsune, Florrie has just been doin’ her indie thing for the last couple of years, gigging and funding her own releases and tours and using her earnings to do it all again. Now, signed to Sony…the future is even brighter for this gorgeous and talented Brit.
As much as I respect Florrie and her INSANE drive…I am excited that she’s with a major label now. She’s proven herself and paid her dues as an indie artist…now it’s time to see what she can do with some major label moolah behind her. I’m mainly hoping that the label sends her abroad to do some U.S. shows, but I know she has to focus her promo efforts on the UK to start.
Check out the “Little White Lies” video below on VEVO and look out for the single (out August 17th) with remixes by Wideboys, Shadow Child, Moonboots, KDA and De$ignated.
