Nothing quite says “Merry Christmas” live a hauntingly beautiful piano ballad. That’s what I always say anyway. Seems fitting then that I do a post on Aussie pop star Delta Goodrem‘s latest offering, “Wish You Were Here,” taken from her fourth studio album, Child of the Universe (Sony Music Australia). The single was co-written by Goodrem and Gary Clark, the latter whom served as the song’s producer. The track was released back in October and featured two other songs as well as a remix of the album’s first single, “Sitting on Top of the World” by Stuart Crighton. “Wish You Were Here” peaked at #5 on the ARIA Singles chart.
I’ve included the beautiful music video BELOW, directed by Ryan Pallotta and released October 16th following it’s premiere on A Current Affair earlier in the month.
Now, more in line with the Christmas spirit, Delta actually has a Christmas EP out right now in Australia, her first Christmas collection I might add. Released December 14th on Sony Music Australia, the aptly titled Christmas features five holiday songs, including “Blue Christmas” which was featured on The Spirit of Christmas 2012 compilation album. Over the years, Goodrem has contributed various songs to the Spirit of Christmas album series starting in 2002 with “Do You Hear What I Hear?” The EP debuted at #67 on the ARIA Singles chart, and #12 on the ARIA Australian Singles chart. Check out the official lyric video for “Blue Christmas” BELOW.
