There’s only one thing I like more than electro pop, and that’s a sexy male electro pop star. Baker is just that. Sexy, talented and oh so electro! Working on his debut album, the talented young artist/DJ/producer splits his time between LA and New York City, working with Music Is My King Size Bed favorites Hyper Crush as well as NYC-based producer extraordinaire Mysto & Pizzi (R.Kelly, Wynter Gordon). New single “All I’m Gonna Say” is the follow up to 2010’s “Echo” (available on iTunes) and is just as catchy and synthy as it’s electro-pop predecessor, both of which are destined to make you dance. Baker‘s musical inspirations are as diverse as his musical talents. Baker grew up playing the cello, which led to a string of recitals and even a performance at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Vocally, it was a stint in one of Harvard University’s acapella groups that allowed him to discover his own sound as an artist. After discovering his sound, it was all about Baker meeting up with the right people – which he did.
“Pop music has always resonated with me, and it was the people I met in the studio that helped me figure out why. I’ve been lucky so far, and feel blessed that I have met such a diverse and talented creative group of people in the industry.”
During his senior year Baker met up with DJ/Producer Kelly Cole which led him to recording an up-tempo dance cover of Nirvana‘s “Heart Shaped Box.” Since then, it’s been a whirlwind journey. Baker started getting buzz last year, with the release of “Echo,” co-written and co-produced by Hyper Crush. Now, it’s 2011 and Baker is ready to put his stamp on the electro pop music scene once again, with his heart set on creating “the catchiest, most danceable pop album ever.” Sounds to me like he has the goods and the talent to go far. Can’t wait to hear what’s next! Check out the video for “All I’m Gonna Say” below and download “Echo” on iTunes HERE.
