I can’t believe my VERY first Governors Ball is just one week away! One of the acts on my “MUST-SEE” list is Aussie brother-sister folk duo, Angus & Julia Stone. While everybody’s been buzzing about these guys for months, I’m only just now getting into them, and with the release of their latest music video I think you’ll understand why.

“From The Stalls” is the latest single (iTunes) to be lifted off the duo’s self-titled third album, which dropped last summer (via American Recordings). The mesmerizingly STUNNING visual was shot in a small town in South Australia over a few days. Director Kiku Ohe beautifully captures some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets I’ve ever seen (SORRY #MANHATTANHENGE). Stunning in its simplicity, the film opens with the camera pointing towards the sky before it shoots over pans down to the water where we see Angus & Julia in a rowboat, drifting under a big blue and lavender sky.
Being from Australia, the gorgeous natural setting means a lot to the Stone siblings. According to Julia, “there are so many memories from making this video. A place we love, with people we love and a song that means a lot to us.” Not only that, but shooting this video allowed Angus & Julia to showcase the beauty of their homeland, capturing both the serene landscape as well as the seemingly endless Indian Ocean.
The album, which produced by the LEGENDARY Rick Rubin, has been keeping these guys busy. Their touring schedule has been INSANE and includes a number of festivals all over the world, including Coachella back in April, Governor’s Ball in NYC next weekend and Lollapalooza in (my hometown of) Chicago later this summer. In their native Australia, Angus & Julia Stone has reached Platinum status, even going Gold in France. Can’t wait to see these guys live. Download or stream their album now. (iTunes / Spotify).
