Adam Lambert is back with a BANGER of a new single and JUST IN TIME for summer. Praise you Adam Lambert. Praise you. Lambert released the video for “Ghost Town,” the lead single from his forthcoming third studio album, The Original High (out June 16th via Warner Bros. Records). Check out the super SLICK new video directed by none-other than Hype Williams (TLC “No Scrubs,” Kanye West “Gold Digger,” Aaliyah “Rock The Boat“) below.
A few seconds into Adam Lambert‘s new single and I thought I knew where it was going. I was preparing myself, both physically and emotionally for a POWERFUL mid to up-tempo guitar-pop CHOON along the lines of “Whataya Want From Me” with a big-ass chorus that only Adam Lambert could belt out. BOY was I wrong. Not even a minute in and “Ghost Town” turns into a slightly-Avicii-esque (meant as a compliment) house BANGER. SAY WHAT!? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
The song reunites Lambert with producer, Max Martin, who worked with the American Idol runner-up on 2 of his past SMASHES, the aforementioned “Whataya Want From Me” and “If I Had You.” “Ghost Town” was written by Ali Payami and Tobias Karlsson.
The video (which premiered last night) keeps things simple yet stylized; shot gloriously in black and white and featuring lots of SMOLDERING close ups of Lambert (who is looking hotter than ever) intermixed with a diverse smattering of dancers. Stunning clip for a stunning song. This OFFICIALLY has got me excited for album No. 3!
