Wow! UK girl group The Saturdays are working HARD to keep the momentum going over in the UK, releasing a new single AND album just months after releasing their final single off of Chasing Lights. The debut album from the girls offered 4 top 10 singles (“If This Is Love” – #8, “Up” – #5, “Issues” – #4, “Just Can’t Get Enough” – #2)! Their lowest charting single, “Work” peaked at #22. Not bad at all ladies!
New single “Forever Is Over” (out October 5th) is the first single off of the girls’ upcoming second album, Colonial Masses, due out in 2009. I like this single. It’s less electro than previous singles, focusing more on the girls vocal talent. WOW. These girls can sing! It’s always hard showcasing individual members’ talent with girl groups as large as this, but this video does a really good job. The vocals are strong and the beat is catchy. I hate to compare to another girl group, but this song and video reminds me of a Girls Aloud track…or something that Girls Aloud might do. I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. I love this song!
