My favorite queen of the clubs, Erika Jayne, may have been MIA since her last hit single topped the Billboard Dance charts earlier this year, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been working hard. Oh no – just the opposite! Not only does Jayne have a new single dropping in a couple weeks, (YAY!!) but the talented songstress JUST announced the formation of Pretty Mess Records, her very own record label! AMAZING!
Jayne, who’s topped the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play charts with FOUR CONSECUTIVE SINGLES – “Rollercoaster,” “Stars,” “Give You Everything,” and “Pretty Mess” – is currently at work on her as-yet-untitled sophomore album. First single, “One Hot Pleasure,” was written by DJ/Producer/Remixer Dave Audé, British singer/songwriter Luciana Caporaso (Bodyrox, Richard Vission & Static Revenger) and UK singer/songwriter/producer Nick Clow and features a HOT video (which we’ve already seen a snippet of) by Mikey Minden and Mike Ruiz. With remixes by Dave Audé, Ralphi Rosario, Dirty Loud, Sultan & Ned and LA-based newcomer Mr. White, Erika Jayne is basically guaranteed a 5th consecutive #1 dance hit.
While we’re waiting for the video premiere, check out this little In Touch Weekly sneak peak of Jayne on the set. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S! The single’s release on November 16th will be the first release from her newly formed record label, Pretty Mess Records.
“Launching my own label allows me to make music that I enjoy and deliver my product,” Jayne says in a statement. “Having full control over the music, the message and concept enables me to make the records I want to make and perform the songs I want to perform. There’s great freedom in that, and it makes for a lot of fun. I can’t wait for my fans to check out ‘One Hot Pleasure,’ it’s a fun, sexy danceable track.” – {SOURCE}
I honestly think that this is the route to go for a talented artist in Jayne’s genre of music. Erika Jayne has yet to achieve mainstream pop radio success, but that doesn’t appear to be her motivation. She’s found her niche…she does her thing and she does it well. By forming her own record label, Erika Jayne will better be able to build off of that success and continue on her own path, a path we all know is leading her straight back to #1.
Pick up Erika Jayne’s debut album, Pretty Mess, out now on iTunes (check out my album review HERE). You can also snag all of her singles and remixes while you’re at it.
