Last Friday, British Drum and Bass duo Sigma unveiled their new single “Changing” featuring soulful British songstress (and Music Is My King Size Bed fav) Paloma Faith. Out September 14th (3Beat/All Around The World) in the UK “Changing” made its radio debut on Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac‘s show and serves as the follow-up single to Sigma‘s #1 hit, “Nobody To Love” which dropped last April. Check out the new song below:
No word whether “Changing” is from a forthcoming album or a standalone single, but the artwork indicates the former. The simple design; white text over a black background, also appears on previous singles “Rudeboy” featuring Doctor (released December 15th) and “Nobody To Love” (April 6).
“Nobody To Love” was originally a bootleg remix of “Bound 2” by Kanye West and released for free in January, ultimately re-worked into an original track by Sigma, with Charlie Wilson‘s vocal re-recorded by Trevor Francis for the single version. “Nobody To Love” went on to top the UK Singles Chart, making it the duo’s first #1 in the UK selling over 121,000 copies in its first week alone.
The single was backed by an impressive remix package with mixes by Jakwob, Grum. TS7 and Third Party as well as a music video shot in Cape Town, South Africa. Here’s hoping the new single features some impressive remixes and a music video…maybe even featuring Ms. Faith. As far as the video goes, I’m not keeping my hopes up. Most music videos released these days for electronic music tracks featuring popular vocalists don’t feature the vocalist.
