Rebecca Ferguson, a Music Is My King Size Bed ‘One to Watch,’ will release her third single, “Glitter & Gold” April 29th via RCA Records. Penned by Ferguson, alongside Alex Smith (Example, Natalie Bassingthwaighte) and Paul Berry (Cher, Enrique Iglesias), “Glitter & Gold” was produced by Smith and Mark Taylor (Tina Turner, Diana Ross) and serves as the third single off of her (nearly double) Platinum-selling debut album, Heaven. The album debuted at an impressive #3 on the UK Albums Chart back in December of last year and will be released in the U.S. on May 15th via Syco/Columbia Records.
Easily one of the album’s standouts, “Glitter & Gold” is an ÜBER-peppy sexed up-soul smash that shows off both Ferguson’s range and vocal restraint. Sure, it’s got the big notes, the big rousing chorus, but it’s also filled with sex appeal as Ferguson coos and purrs her way through verses. While by no means dance-pop on it’s own, “Glitter & Gold” is one of the album’s more remix-friendly up-tempo tracks. So far, on the remix we have the always impressive Cahill, Feverpitch and Tom Farrago, all of which you can listen to BELOW. Also make sure you check out the live version, filmed at Liverpool Echo Arena during Ferguson’s UK headlining tour.
Having already come off a successful UK tour, Rebecca Ferguson is set to conquer America. Starting next week, Ferguson will be over here for promo, TV appearances (hopefully) and some live shows on both the West and East Coasts. I for one, can’t wait to see America fall in love with one of this generation’s iconic new voices.
Originally hailing from Liverpool, 25-year old Rebecca Ferguson competed on the seventh series of the UK’s X-Factor in 2010, where she came in second to winner Matt Cardle. Ferguson released her debut single, the emotionally-drenched ballad “Nothing’s Real But Love,” on November 20th 2011 and saw it debut at an impressive #10. Ferguson released Heaven‘s second single, “Too Good To Lose” on March 2nd, 2012 promoting it with a gorgeous video shot in Venice Beach, California. New single, “Glitter & Gold,” will be released in the UK April 29th and features a visually stunning video (U.S. Link) directed by Syndrome, a “multi-discipline design crew/art collective based in Los Angeles.” Watch this space for updates on Ferguson’s forthcoming U.S. promotion schedule.
