UK chanteuse (and one of the best live artists I’ve ever seen), Paloma Faith has unveiled the gorgeous new Anthony Saul-directed video for her latest UK hit single, a cover of “Never Tear Us Apart,” originally by INXS. The song originally appeared in an advertisement for UK department store, John Lewis and was released as a single on September 23rd (RCA Records). Serving as the FIRST single off Paloma’s album reissue, and the third overall single taken from Fall To Grace, it debuted at #16 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming her third Top 20 single to date. Well done Ms. Faith. Well done.
A long time fan of the INXS version, Faith had this to say about her own version: “I have always loved this song and I feel honoured to sing it.” The repackaged Fall To Grace album is due to hit UK shelves and digital outlets on October 22nd along with new tracks not heard previously when the album was released back in May. Fall To Grace is Faith’s highest charting album to date, debuting at #2 on the UK Album chart and remained in the Top 10 for five consecutive weeks. While the album did fall out of the Top 10 for a few weeks, it rose back up to the #2 spot in week eleven and as of today has spent a total of 10 impressive weeks in the Top 10. AMAZING feat.
It was recently confirmed that Fall To Grace would be making it’s U.S. debut on November 27th (Epic Records), following the release of Paloma’s first U.S. single, “Picking Up The Pieces,” and tour, which concluded in September. I’m hoping that Paloma returns to the States for some MUCH NEEDED promotion ahead of the album’s November 27th release date. You’d think she’d have a little bit of time, considering her UK tour isn’t scheduled to begin until January 21st.
