WOW. Those McFly boys are back with a brand new look and sound. Their new single “Party Girl” is an electro/pop SMASH unlike anything we’ve ever heard out of the boys before. Gone are the days when the boys used to sing about “That Girl” and the “5 Colours In Her Hair.” “Party Girl” is an unexpected treat from a band that I used to disregard as another Busted-clone. Times, they are a changin’ and Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry are changing right there with them. While the video is obviously a cheap ploy to cash in the whole vampire craze sweeping the world right now and I, think it just might work in their favor. Side note – does this video remind anyone else of the Backstreet Boys “classic” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)“? Same uber-cheese factor I think. Just saying…
The single was written by Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Dallas Austin and produced by Dallas Austin. It’s due for release September 6th on 7″ picture disc, CD Single and digital download via Island Records.
Congratulations to the boys, as their single was just added to BBC Radio 1‘s A-List on August 25th. Oh…and look out for remixes by Doman & Gooding and Danny Jones.
